If you’re a student, parent, guardian or educator, you can increase college and career readiness with GEAR UP Meriden as your partner. A federally funded grant program through the USDOE that helps empower local students to think beyond what they see today. GEAR UP CT provides the tools, resources, and programs to help students starting as early as middle school to increase their success in education.
GEAR UP MERIDEN currently serves the class of 2025 across the City of Meriden at Francis T. Maloney High School and Orville H. Platt High School.
Together with Connecticut State Colleges & Universities, the Meriden Public School system, and Middlesex Community College, GU MERIDEN supports current 12th graders. With the goal to increase the number of students and families prepared and ready to succeed in their post-secondary goals.
Our Family Learning Community meets bi-monthly to support the needs of GU MERIDEN families. In addition to our FLC we offer a variety of events for families, including a Positive Parenting Series, College Tours and Community and Career Resource Fairs.
